Thinking of attending Disney’s Villains After Hours at Walt Disney World? Here are 7 reasons we think you’ll love it!

Are you more of a princess/prince kind of person – or do you have a thing for the the VILLAINS?

My husband and I just can’t help but love the Disney villains. I don’t really even know why! I guess because being bad is so much fun – right?! If you’re like us and love everything villain, I have to tell you all about an amazing event that I attended – Disney’s Villain’s After Hours at Walt Disney World! You can join the party on select nights February 7th – July 10th 2020.

A few weeks ago, my husband and I were at Disney World for our first annual Ears of Experience conference. After a full day of meeting new friends, exchanging ideas for our business, and learning how to help serve our clients better, we decided to have a little play time at Disney’s Villains After Hours party in Magic Kingdom. I’m SO glad we did! It was so much fun and I would absolutely do it again. It’s especially great for those who have limited time to visit Magic Kingdom like we did, but it can also be an amazing add on to your Disney World vacation package!

Here are 7 reasons why you should attend Disney’s Villains After Hours party:

1. Low wait times

There’s only a certain number of tickets allocated for this event, which means crowds are definitely at a minimum. That also means wait times for attractions are expected to be very low! My husband and I never had to wait any more than 10 minutes to hop on a ride, which was absolutely amazing. We got to experience all of our favorite attractions as many times as we wanted without using a FastPass or standing in line for hours. Here are some of the attractions that are open during Disney’s Villains After Hours:

  • Astro Orbiter
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
  • Haunted Mansion
  • “it’s a small world”
  • Jungle Cruise
  • Mickey’s PhilharMagic
  • Peter Pan’s Flight
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • Space Mountain
  • Splash Mountain
  • And More!

Don’t believe me about the crowds being low? Check out this photo I took of Main Street USA halfway through the night. I have never seen Magic Kingdom this empty! We practically had the entire park to ourselves.

2. Villainous Twists on Your Favorite Attractions

You won’t just be able to ride your favorite attractions as many times as you want and experience low wait times. Some of the rides even have a villainous twist to them! I won’t ruin the surprise, but be sure to look for special details on The Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain attractions!

3. Free and unlimited Mickey bars, popcorn and bottled drinks

One of my favorite things about this event was the free and unlimited Mickey bars and other pre-packaged ice cream favorites from the parks, popcorn, and bottled drinks that were available all night long! What could be better?! All we had to do was walk up to the concession stand and tell the Cast Member’s what we wanted. No payment required!

4. You get to see all of your favorite villains on one stage

At several times throughout the night, there will be an awesome stage show called “Villains Unite the Night” where you’ll get to see all of your favorite villains on one stage! And of course, there will be fireworks! The castle will be lit up in different ways and you’ll get to dance and sing along to your favorite songs.

5. Villain themed treats and drinks

For an extra purchase, you can find tons of villain themed food and drinks around the park! Disney got really creative with these and I’m loving it. Check out just a few of the awesome food and drinks options you’ll find at the party:

Body Language” (Available at Storybook Treats) – Cookies and cream mousse with chocolate cake, glacage, meringue tentacles, and a chocolate shell.

Voodoo Magic” (Available at Sleepy Hollow) – Shimmering lemonade vitamin water with green apple syrup garnished with a purple candy straw

Hades Hot Dog (Available at Casey’s Corner) – All-beef hot dog topped with buffalo chicken, diced celery, fiery cheese dust, and spicy ranch drizzle.

Hades Temptation (Available at Casey’s Corner) – Purple frozen mocktail “Cosmo” with lemonade, violet syrup, and a gummy worm.

6. Villain themed merchandise

There’s also villain themed merchandise you can find throughout the park! Everything from ears, to t-shirts, to pre-packaged candy and everything in between. You can’t find this special merch anywhere else other than the Villains Party – which makes for a great reason to go! Who doesn’t love shopping?

7. You have just one more excuse to dress up as your favorite villain!

If you’re really feeling in the villainous spirit, dress up as your favorite villain for the party! I saw lots of people doing this (if I had more time to prepare, I probably would have too!). You could even get some personalized shirts made which is always a great idea! Take a look at Pinterest or Google for some ideas.

There are also restrictions for the kind of costumes you can wear (no masks, sharp objects, etc.) so be sure to check the Disney website for the guidelines before you go!
